The 2019 Hunter Douglas Design Studio™ Collection

Design Studio™ Draperies & Roman Shades

For many customers of Windo VanGo serving the greater Baltimore area, it’s not just finding a window treatment that works that matters—it’s finding an entire look. And that can be daunting—after all, there are colors and patterns and things to coordinate. That’s where the Hunter Douglas Design Studio comes in. With the Design Studio, the guesswork is gone. Simply follow the step-by-step guide, and you’ll find the coordinated look you’ll love. Read on to learn more!

Choose Your Base Layer

Start by choosing the product that will go directly against the window—choose from blinds, shades, and shutters. Hunter Douglas options include Silhouette® Window Shadings, Designer Banded Shades, Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Provenance® Woven Wood Shades, and more. This layer is for light control and energy efficiency at the window, and you can choose solid or textured, neutral or colored materials.

Determine a Custom Second Layer

Your second layer is fabrics that will add drama, depth, and style to your window. You can select from the core Design Studio line or from the featured artist collection, finding selections that will coordinate or complement what you already chose. Note that side panels frame the window to add dimension and beauty. Drapery can fully cover the window to provide additional privacy and light control.

The Experts at Hunter Douglas

The experts at Hunter Douglas offer suggestions for coordinating with tone-on-tone looks for neutrals, colors, or textures. They also suggest contrasts with color or patterns, to bring out an accent color in the room, to highlight a color from a patterned undertreatment, or to add a color that you just love. Just look at the “folios” of fabrics that will work well together. You have many folios to choose from, including “gray infinity,” “harvest comfort,” or “seaside retreat.” You can also choose fabrics from the Featured Artist series, which is a unique offering of its own—right now, they are featuring renowned textile designer Rebecca Atwood, who takes inspiration from the world around her when she creates her designs.
