Office Window Treatments

NewStyle™ Hybrid Shutters

NewStyle™ Hybrid Shutters

Although commercial design is not usually as detailed as residential design, window treatments can still be both functional and decorative. If you’re looking to add or replace window treatments in your place of business, there are a few things to consider. Speak with a trained consultant at Windo VanGo serving the greater Baltimore area. We’ll be happy to help you determine which window treatments will work best for your office.

Things to Consider

  • Do you want your window treatments to be noticed or blend in?
When your window treatments stand out, they become the focal point. When a window treatment blends in, it will simply be functional and not decorative. You can never go wrong with receding a window treatment. Check out Silhouette® Window Shadings.
  • Should they be vertical or horizontal?
  • There are many options in both vertical and horizontal window treatments. Horizontal window coverings work best on windows that are taller than they are wide, while vertical window coverings are most suitable for windows that are wider than they are tall. Skyline™ Gliding Panels well for both.
  • Should they diffuse or deflect light or sound?
  • Diffusing or deflecting light can be handled in a variety of ways with more light-control options, such as room-darkening backings. All window treatments diffuse sound to a certain degree, but fabric products seem to work the best. Harder surfaces, such as plantation shutters, wood blinds and verticals, and aluminum blinds, are not as effective.
  • What type of operating system do you want?

There are a variety of operating systems from Hunter Douglas Window Fashions. You can go with motorized options or with differently corded systems. Choices include LiteRise®, UltraGlide®, Standard Cordlock, and EasyRise™. You can also choose the way the treatment lifts, including the popular top-down/bottom-up option that will give you the ultimate control.
